So Valentines Day is just around the corner. Unlike most years, I’ve pretty much got everything wrapped up. I thought long and hard about the gift, we have dinner reservations, and I’m ready for Thursday night.

So here’s the big give. Last night I started making Chocolate Truffles. Hand made, home made, four kinds of chocolate…the real deal. Now I love chocolate. It’s my favorite food group, but in the last 24 hours, I’ve been up to my elbows in the stuff. I’ve licked it off spoons, beaters, bowls, rolled and shaped it with my hands…the whole nine yards. The bottom line is currently, I hate Chocolate.

I sampled one of them this afternoon, and they are great! Smooth texture, with a firm yet yielding shell, and coated with cocoa. I hate chocolate.

Now this is going contrast to everything that I know. I ‘m torn between this whole love/hate thing. I love Chocolate. It’s me being in touch with my feminine side. I hate chocolate. Here’s the kicker, on top of the package of goodness I just produced, we have a half eaten box of See’s candies on the counter. There was a day when I could sit down and eat the entire box in one sitting. But that day has passed. I hate chocolate.

Now that being said, I’m sure that after a little Detox, I’ll come to love it again. But right now I have 75 reminders to the fact that I HATE CHOCOLATE!!!!!
