An Apology: Saying the wrong thing really does go along way. As in typical eric fashion, I said the wrong thing to my wife yesterday causing a rather uncomfortable ride home from church, and aided in my self exile to the car and it maintenance yesterday afternoon. I won’t go into the details, but really, it’s simple. Think before you speak, or just don’t say anything at all till you’re absolutely sure of what you want to say. Bottom line, is that I hurt her feelings, and if you’re reading this today…I’m sorry and I love you.
Friday: My actual birthday started out pretty much the same as any other day. It was a minimum day so I picked up the girls up at noon. My wife took off early from work, so we all went to lunch. When we got home, there were some presents for me…An astronomy mag., some chocolate, new underwear, and an MP3 player that my wife ordered. It hasn’t arrived yet, but it should be here sometime this week. that night the girls had movie night at church, and we had the boy at home. For the most part it was a low key birthday.
Saturday: I made the annual trip to the NAMM show with a friend. This was maybe my 15th or 16th in the last 20 years. The show hasn’t changed much, unless you consider its size. There was a time when it took up 2 halls of the Anaheim CC, now it fills all 4 and the arena…plus various hotel ballrooms and rooms around the CC. over the years it has really morphed into a polished presentation. With learning modules put on by NAMM, to full on rock concerts at the Taylor Booth featuring Six Wire. I’ll post more on the music page later today along with some pictures.
Sunday: Not much happened on Sunday. I couldn’t bare to watch the game, so I went ahead and tuned up the Honda. They just don’t make these cars like they used to. Sparkplugs are locked in with cap screws, and the plug wires are harnessed in and need to be disconnected from the plug boot and. By the end of it, I am convinced that I should take it to a shop for a tune up rather than fight with this.
The Chargers: licking the wounds. Yesterday the Chargers had more scoring opportunities than the Patriots, but still came up short. Playing banged up, they held their own against the 18-0 team. I guess have to put my money (not that I bet) on New England to win it all. Good for Junior Saou, He at 39, he may finally get his ring. Then he can retire…again. As for the season, the Chargers started off slow, but became a team that could stand with the best of them. Sometimes loosing handily, other times squeaking by with a win that maybe they didn’t disserve. For me it was a fulfilling season. And for all the people that wanted Norv Turners head on a stick back in week four. I think he recovered well. The team got to the conference title game. Not a bad year.
