A San Diego Christmas: it looks a little like this…A clear cold morning, not a cloud in the sky, warming up to the mid 70’s, with a brisk evening just right for a fire in the fireplace. For some reason, the Christmas in SD seems a little more comfortable that the Christmases I had growing up just up the 5. Mornings always seemed a little different than they do now. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but at my home is where Christmas is most comfortable.
Another Christmas Eve TV Special: Tonight, Monday Night Football. Chargers take on the Broncos. The great thing is that we are playing in SD. The time slot falls right at the end of the early church service this afternoon. While there is nothing at stake purse for either team, it would be nice to finish out the season 11-5. As for my brothers team, it looks like they will have to give it a go next year.
The Birthday Party: Yesterday, we had the party with 12 kids…nine girls 3 boys. There didn’t seem to be ant awkward moments. The kids spent their time playing football out in front, soccer in the back, air hockey, making bracelets, hugging, beating up on a piƱata…the usual party stuff. It was nice that 8 year olds seem to be able to take care of themselves. If they needed a drink, they got one, some chips, help yourself. And since everyone got along, and there was plenty to do, there were no conflicts or skirmishes. We have another party this week for a friend’s daughter, two day event, slumber party/ice skating party the next day. I’ll get some pictures posted later on in the week.
