Saturday night: we had the first of 2 company parties this season. Saturday’s event was held at the House of blues in downtown SD. This was my first trip to the “H of B” and I was for the most part impressed. I’d go see a show there if there was anyone worth seeing.
The theme was Mardi Gras, and the band was the Wild Magnolias, A bluesy, Funky, Zydeco band from New Orleans. They started out the night with some instrumental stuff, and went into some party music. They really brought the Qualcomm crowd out of their shells. Read below. The Guitar player was phenomenal. He never missed a note. You can read more about that at eric makes music.
Getting in touch with your inner slut: Alcohol does strange but predictable things to human behavior. They say that booze releases your inhibitions, and lets your true personality out. Some people get angry, others love everybody in the room, for one young lady at the party she let loose with her best hoochie dance. The band was playing a riff called “shake what your mama gave ya” well, she was, and it wasn’t too attractive. She was big bonded to begin with, and she was rubbing herself all over everything like a dog in heat. I’ve seen displays like this in the past, and often wondered how those people feel about going to work on the following Monday.
It’s raining money: Part of the thing at Mardi Gras calibrations is that they throw things. I was pelted with everything from beads, tambourines, and other sundry items. At one point, with all of the managers on the balcony, and the worker bees below, they let rain down about $300 in one dollar bills. I have never been in a situation like that. We were not able to grab any loot due to the pushing and shoving, along with the changing wind patterns in the area. Ones don’t just fall straight down, they take their time and flitter a little bit like a butterfly on the breeze.
Chagers: Suck!Movin on.
The Red Hots: had their awards banquet at Round Table Pizza. Just like old times. The coach said some nice things about all the girls, and an invitation was extended to play indoor in the off season. We all reminisced about the season, and went our separate ways. This was a good group of girls. I’m proud of every one. Next year I may assist the coach with the team…if he asks.
