Time has been short lately…the reason, the all consuming bathroom re-model. This weekend we got the tile down. I spent my weekend in front of a tile saw…wet and covered with grit, by wife had the slightly cleaner job of laying the tile. We started Saturday night and finished it up on Sunday evening. By the time we were finished, we were both beat. The next step…grouting….another job for my wire when the tile is all sealed, I’ll put the throne back in place, and break it in…if you know what I mean.
With soccer, church, and the bathroom, we didn’t make it out to the Oktoberfest this year. This is the first time in a wile we’ve missed it, but I think that there are celebrations every weekend this month. There’s plenty of Polskas to go round.
finally: The Chargers win handily over the Broncos 41-3. This takes some of the sting out of the Padres extra inning loss to the Rockies last week. That being said, I think the AFC West is probably the most evenly pitted, and the only conference with an overall loosing record. Hopefully the Chargers are turning it around, and we can spend out Sundays winning some games.
more sports: The Red Hots won their 5th consecutive game this weekend. It was a close one 2-1, and their opponents…The purple Porcupines, were a good match up. No score in the first half, and a couple of shots when the goalie came thru with some great saves. It’s pretty exciting for under 8 girls league. I keep telling myself that I’m not going to go over board at these things, but I always end up running up and down the sidelines cheering…maybe a little coaching. I can’t help myself. As hard as I try, I can’t keep it in…hopefully I’m not making a fool of myself, no one else seems to mind.
16 wedding anniversary: We had a low key celebration. After dropping the kids off we were off to Sammy’s wood fired pizza. This we ate at the mission valley location, we had good food and service, and with it being Friday night, everybody there was on the prowl. It was a good thing I already had a date, most of the guys there were striking out in the bar. There was even a table with 20 or so college co-eds ripe for the picking, but they weren’t having any either. After dinner, we did some window shopping, and were back home with the kids by 10:oo. With the weekends as crazy as they are now, we will wait till next month to do something a little more special.
