Better: Today is our 16th wedding anniversary…Wow! It’s been a great tide to this point. When I think back to the friends that were married about the time that we were, I find that most of those couples are divorced, and some ever re-married by now.

In a husbandly (last minute fashion) I got all the gifts picked out and bought today, and had the kids wrap everything. hey they gotta be good for something. Tonight, the kids are going to the sitter, and we off to down town to enjoy a nice dinner together…alone.

Happy Anniversary to my wife. you’re the best thing that could have ever happened to me, and I love you very much.

Better: Oktoberfest on La Mesa. This always falls on the weekend of our anniversary. So we go and celebrate. Not of the frothy beverages, but of the sausages, funnel cakes, and goodies. This year will be no exception.

Worse: The bathroom. It took much longer than expected to do the wonder board, and 3 rounds of tile and gum surgery on my wife, we’re finally in a place where we can move forward with this project. The only problem…we have no time this weekend. With a well timed soccer game on Saturday afternoon, and church, Oktoberfest on Sunday, I fear that another week will go by with no toilet in that room. The deadline is the 10th. That is when the shower doors arrive. With the doors and a new shower head, the stall will be ready, the tile then and finally the throne will be returned to its rightful place, then and only then will life get back to normal.
